Dr. Michelle Welsford is the Medical Director for the Hamilton Health Sciences Centre for Paramedic Education and Research where she provides medical oversight for nearly 1,400 paramedics; and the Medical Director for Ontario Set Medic who provides amazing medics for TV and movie productions. She is also a staff emergency physician at Hamilton Health Sciences.Dr. Welsford is a Professor and the Division Director at McMaster University (@MacEmerg) and the Prehospital Fellowship Director at McMaster. Her academic and research interests include cardiac, trauma, and sepsis systems of care as well as enhanced prehospital care for residents of long-term care homes and persons seeking a palliative approach to care.

She has also been involved in resuscitation guideline development for over 15 years through her volunteer work with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. She enjoys the thousands of hours spent on evidence evaluation.

Khondoker M. Rashid BSc, PCP(f), AEMCA

Training Co-ordinator, Ontario Set Medics

Khondoker completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, majoring in Biology and Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS). During his undergrad, he started volunteering with St. John Ambulance (SJA) and worked his way up to unit chief of multiple divisions.

SJA is an organization he continues to be associated with as a certified instructor and he brings that knowledge to OSM as a Training Officer.

His love of teaching and training continued to grow as he went through the Paramedic program at Humber College. Khondoker has some unique experiences in the field of paramedicine through his work as a rural Paramedic for WAHA Paramedic Service and as a Flight Paramedic for Ornge. Currently, he is working for Toronto Paramedic Services in his hometown.

He guides the training department to help OSM medics keep up-to-date with their knowledge and skills by providing continuous training and developing Continuing Medical Education (CME) course.

Ontario Set Medics provides productions companies with provincially certified, unionized, and passionate medics.

We are provincially certified medics who practice under the license of a Medical Director. All our medics have graduated from a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care recognized Ontario Primary Care Paramedic Program and hold a minimum qualification of a Primary Care Diploma, Province of Ontario Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) certification, International Trauma and Life Support (ITLS) Basic certification, and CPR Level HCP/BLS.
